Opening Ceremony London 2012: Olympics Guide and Coverage


After the seven years of preparation now the last minutes of nerve wracking moment has just started as the much awaited Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics is about to start in the city.

In the recent days, as the official Olympic torch finally gone to its destination and the Thames is on its way to light up tonight in the Opening Ceremony London 2012. Hence, the mood in London, where already grumbling and has yielded to palpable excitement, according to some international news.

Apparently, the opening ceremony is entitled “Isles of Wonder” . Based on history, the last time London hosted the Olympics, in 1948, the country was battered with battle and the “Austerity Olympics” were just dubbed, money, food and energy  where in short supply.

The London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony can be seen at exactly 7:30 pm ET on NBC and the Olympic Stadium is the centrepiece of the London’s Olympic Park. The Stadium seats up 80,000 people, and 55,000 of the seats are removable. About 10,000 tons of steel were used to build the venue compared to the 42,000 used by Beijing for their “Bird’s Nest”

Up to $42 million, three hour extravaganza and night show are to be witnessed by billion of people around the world. Over 15,000 volunteers have already worked out together for the said show. Danny Boyle will be the man behind the Opening Ceremony of the London 2012.
